LAHORE — The Captain Ahmad Mubeen and Zahid Akram Gondal Shaheed Lahore Police Inter-District T20 Cricket Tournament 2025 began yesterday with an opening ceremony at Punjab University Campus. DIG (Admin) Imran Kishwar was the chief guest.

The tournament, which runs from Sept 15 to 26, features seven teams representing various sub-divisions of the Lahore Police, including the Elite Force, Anti-Riot Force, City Traffic Police, Investigation Wing, Dolphin Force, Operations Wing and CCPO XI. The opening match saw Anti-Riot Force defeating Elite Force by 21 runs in a thrilling encounter.
More exciting matches are scheduled for today, with City Traffic Police facing off against Elite Force, and Investigation Wing going head-to-head with Dolphin Force.
Speaking in this regard, Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana emphasized the importance of sports in fostering a positive and community-oriented image of the Lahore Police. “By encouraging participation in sports, we not only promote physical fitness but also instill discipline and camaraderie among the force,” said Kamyana. Such initiatives play an important role in boosting the morale and helping to lead healthy, active lives.
DIG (Admin) Imran Kishwar also addressed the crowd, highlighting the broader benefits of sports beyond just physical fitness. “Sports teach discipline, teamwork, courage, and tolerance — qualities that are essential in our line of work,” he said. He also reaffirmed the department’s commitment to promoting positive activities and well-being among police personnel, with similar initiatives planned for the future.
