NANKANA SAHIB – Baba Guru Nanak Hockey Academy Nankana Sahib secured second position in the inaugural “Marka Haq” hockey tournament. Fans of hockey congratulated the players and officials on this remarkable achievement.
The tournament, jointly organized by the District Sports Department Murree, Murree Red Hockey Club, and Baba Guru Nanak Hockey Academy, featured 12 teams. The final match was played between Baba Guru Nanak Hockey Academy Nankana Sahib and Ali Amir Hockey Club Sargodha, with Ali Amir Hockey Club winning 8-3.
The event was made possible through the support of Malik Zaman of Lahore College, Baba Guru Nanak Hockey Academy CEO Syed Ghulam Mujtaba Shah, and the local community and leaders. This milestone tournament brought great pride to hockey fans in Nankana Sahib and Sheikhupura, who lauded the Academy’s efforts.
Olympian and Sheikhupura Congress member Anjum Saeed, along with Ikramul Haq Gujjar of Nankana Sahib district, paid tribute to the Academy’s team and praised its role in promoting hockey. Contributions were also made by Ali Raza, Chaudhry Khalid Advocate, Wajid Ali Abbasi, and Mehtab Sarwar.
The Deputy Commissioner of Murree extended gratitude to Baba Guru Nanak Hockey Academy Nankana Sahib for their efforts in making the event successful.
