LAHORE: Due to a high flood in the River Ravi, several areas of Lahore including Katar Bund Road, Thokar, Muridwal Darbar, and adjoining localities have been severely affected. Floodwater has entered houses and standing crops, creating immense difficulties for the residents. With both urban and rural areas impacted, local populations are being shifted to safe locations on an urgent basis.

In view of the gravity of the situation, President PML-N Lahore and Member of National Assembly Malik Saif-ul-Malook Khokhar rushed to the affected sites and personally supervised the ongoing rescue operations. To control the flooding, heavy machinery was immediately deployed on an emergency basis to fill the breach in the protective bund and initiate repair work.
Speaking on the occasion, Malik Saif-ul-Malook Khokhar said that this is a time to stand firmly with the people. The flood-affected citizens will not be left alone while the Punjab Government and district administration are taking timely steps to ensure maximum protection of lives and property.
He further added the our top priority is to relocate the affected families to safe places and provide them with all necessary facilities. I am thankful to the Punjab Government, Rescue 1122, WASA, Police, and all administrative officials who are working tirelessly, day and night, to save people from this calamity.
Malik Saif-ul-Malook Khokhar also appealed to the public not to pay attention to rumors and to cooperate with government institutions so that the relief and rescue efforts could be carried out effectively.
Accompanying him during the emergency visit were Assistant Commissioner Khawaja Umair, Focal Person & Chief Coordinator Malik Manzoor Hussain Khokhar, WASA Coordinator Malik Faisal Ashraf Khokhar, WASA XEN Faisal Sarwar, Ch. Pervaiz Jutt, along with other relevant officials, who remained actively engaged in overseeing the flood response measures.
