In a shocking incident, a man and his two sons were arrested for the cold-blooded murder of their own nephew, Shabbir Hussain. The suspects used knives and cleavers to kill him during a violent domestic dispute. The incident also left the victim’s son, brother, and father severely injured. The swift action of the Johar Town Investigation Police, acting on the orders of DIG Zeeshan Raza, led to the immediate arrest of the suspects at the scene. DIG Raza stated that a strong legal case is being prepared to ensure exemplary punishment for the perpetrators. SSP Investigation Muhammad Naveed also announced commendation certificates for the officers who responded promptly and effectively.
On another front, the Investigation Wing has launched a strict campaign against narcotics and has held its own personnel accountable for poor performance in drug-related cases. One sub-inspector was demoted to the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) due to negligence in handling drug cases. Furthermore, 19 police officials were penalized with service record deductions for failing to provide complete evidence in narcotics trials.
DIG Zeeshan Raza stressed that officers who show negligence or perform poorly will face consequences and that there is no room for leniency. He warned that those turning a blind eye to drug-related crimes must prepare for internal accountability. SSP Muhammad Naveed reaffirmed that making Lahore drug-free remains a top priority and called on society to join hands in building a healthy and informed community. He expressed concern about the rising threat of drugs among youth and underscored the need to eradicate this menace completely.
The leadership also pledged that hard-working and honest officers will continue to receive recognition and support, while strict and indiscriminate action against drug dealers and anti-social elements will persist without compromise.
