LAHORE: The Lahore Police’s crackdown on electricity theft continues with full force as authorities intensify actions against those involved in power pilferage. In the ongoing campaign, 647 suspects have been arrested and 1,081 cases registered during the month of July.

According to a statement issued today by the Lahore Police spokesman, a total of 18,510 individuals have been arrested this year in connection with electricity theft and 14,565 cases have been registered against them.
Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana emphasized that the Lahore Police is providing comprehensive support to relevant departments, particularly in collaboration with the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), to ensure impartial and consistent action against electricity thieves.
The CCPO instructed police officers to ensure the arrest of proclaimed offenders involved in electricity theft cases and directed that investigation reports be submitted to courts within the stipulated timeframe. He reiterated that the police will maintain a zero-tolerance policy against elements causing damage to the country’s resources.
The Lahore Police reaffirmed their commitment to continuing robust efforts in curbing electricity theft and holding violators accountable under the law.
