LAHORE: Chairperson of the Senate Standing Committee on Federal Education and Professional Training, Senator Bushra Anjum Butt, visited the Lahore Centre of Sundas Foundation.
Upon arrival, she was warmly welcomed by Founder and President of Sundas Foundation, Muhammad Yaseen Khan, and Director Khalid Abbas Dar.
During her visit, Senator Bushra Anjum Butt toured various departments of the Foundation and interacted with children undergoing treatment for thalassemia and hemophilia. She also distributed gifts among the patients and inquired about their health and treatment.
Consultant Hematologist Dr. Saira Moeen briefed the Senator on the operations of the Foundation, informing her that over 10,000 patients suffering from thalassemia, hemophilia, and other blood disorders are currently registered with the Foundation. These patients are provided free, regular blood transfusions and essential medicines.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, Senator Bushra Anjum Butt said “This institution stands as a beacon of humanitarian service and is a source of pride for the nation. The children here are not only receiving free treatment but also invaluable emotional support. I extend my full support to Sundas Foundation.” She further assured that the government would fully back institutions that are genuinely serving the people, stating: “I will personally advocate for increased support for Sundas Foundation at the federal level so that a greater number of patients can benefit from its services.”
Muhammad Yaseen Khan, Founder and President of Sundas Foundation, described the visit as an encouraging gesture and said that the support of committed public representatives like Senator Bushra Anjum Butt sends a strong and positive message to all philanthropic institutions.
At the conclusion of the visit, a commemorative shield was presented to Senator Bushra Anjum Butt by Muhammad Yaseen Khan in recognition of her support and visit.
