LAHORE: In the federal budget, the government has increased the salaries of government employees by only 10 percent, while the ongoing expenditure on salaries and allowances of the cabinet has been proposed to double.

The government has proposed to increase the budget of the cabinet for salaries and allowances from Rs 351.8 million to Rs 688.7 million in the budget.
The budget for salaries and allowances of federal ministers and ministers of state has been proposed to be increased from Rs 270 million to Rs 505.4 million.
The budget for salaries and allowances of the Prime Minister’s advisors has been increased from Rs 36.1 million to Rs 63.1 million. It is proposed to increase the budget for salaries and allowances for special assistants from Rs 37 million to Rs 113.4 million.
The budget of the Cabinet Division has been increased from Rs 333.4 million to Rs 421.59 million.
