According to details, a 7-year-old girl anaya undergoing treatment in the burn unit required an urgent transfusion of rare A-negative blood.
Her father immediately called Emergency Helpline 15 to seek help. The Virtual Blood Bank officer promptly responded by locating a matching donor from the database and connecting them with the child’s father via conference call.
The blood donor reached the hospital on time and donated the required blood. In a heartfelt gesture, the child’s parents expressed deep gratitude towards the donor and the Safe City team, and voluntarily registered themselves as blood donors to help others in need in the future.
According to the PSCA spokesperson, requests for blood from across Punjab continue to come in through Helpline 15. In case of a medical emergency requiring urgent blood, citizens can call 15 and press 4 for immediate assistance.
Citizens are also encouraged to register as blood donors by scanning the QR code available on the Safe City website and official social media platforms, or by directly calling 15. The Safe City Virtual Blood Bank remains operational 24/7 to ensure timely support and save precious lives.
