LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana presided over a performance review meeting of Model Town and Cantonment Divisions at his office.

During the meeting, the CCPO issued directions regarding security arrangements for Independence Day August 14, the Urs of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA) and the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S). He stressed the importance of ensuring prevention of one-wheeling and aerial firing on August 14.

Bilal Siddique Kamyana directed to keep a close watch on individuals with previous records of one-wheeling and aerial firing. He also preferred action against mechanics involved in motorcycle alterations that enable such dangerous stunts.

Meanwhile, the CCPO reaffirmed a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, warning that departmental action will be taken upon any complaint. “The real strength of police lies in providing timely relief to the oppressed,” he said, urging that police offices must serve as accessible avenues for justice.

He emphasized the importance of community policing in maintaining peace at the grassroots. He also directed that strict checking be ensured at entry and exit points of societies located in hotspots adding that citizens should also be educated on the importance of self-security.

To combat snatching and other street crimes, CCPO instructed increased patrolling in crime-prone pockets and the deployment of plainclothes personnel to identify and apprehend criminals. He also ordered the availability of focal persons at front desks, police helpline 15, and police stations to ensure timely processing of applications.

He stressed the need to eliminate case pendency in coordination with the Prosecution Department and emphasized maintaining regular communication with subordinate staff to improve office efficiency. “Timely registration of FIRs is the right of every citizen and must be ensured without fail,” he added.
