June 2, 2026 | KARACHI-Popular television host and producer Nida Yasir has often been candid about the ups and downs of her married life with Yasir Nawaz. During a recent episode of Good Morning Pakistan, the veteran host reflected on the lessons that helped her maintain a strong relationship despite her emotional and impulsive nature.

Speaking about the challenges many young couples face, Nida shared that immaturity often makes newly married women view minor disagreements as major problems. Recalling her own experience, she revealed that whenever she encountered difficulties in her marriage, her immediate reaction was to turn to her mother for support.

“I was very emotional and would often cry while telling my mother about issues I was facing,” Nida said. However, instead of reacting strongly or taking sides, her mother would patiently listen without encouraging negativity. According to Nida, this approach played a significant role in protecting her marriage from unnecessary complications.

The host explained that parents can sometimes develop resentment toward a son-in-law if they repeatedly hear complaints from their daughters. While couples often resolve their differences and move forward, family members may continue holding on to negative impressions. Nida praised her mother for understanding this dynamic and refusing to judge situations based on temporary emotions.

“She never got carried away by my tears or complaints,” Nida shared. “She understood that I was upset in the moment and needed someone to listen. After a few days, things would improve between my husband and me, and life would return to normal.”

Describing her mother as both a confidante and a source of wisdom, Nida said she provided a safe space where she could express her frustrations without creating lasting family tensions. She even joked that her mother found many of her complaints uninteresting, which helped her gain perspective and move on more quickly.

Offering advice to young women, Nida suggested that it is healthy to vent emotions when hurt but recommended choosing the right person to confide in. Instead of sharing every marital issue with close family members, she advised speaking to a trusted friend who can listen without becoming emotionally invested in the situation.

She also encouraged women to maintain strong friendships throughout life, saying that different friends can fulfill different emotional needs—some for fun and companionship, and others for sharing personal concerns. According to Nida, having a reliable support system can make navigating relationships much easier while preserving harmony within the family.
