Muhammad Ali Nekokara (PSP/BS-20) posted as DIG Operations, CPO Punjab

LAHORE, November 04, 2025 — The Government of Punjab has announced a major reshuffle in the police hierarchy through a notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD).

The notification, bearing No.SO(S-1)2-2/2024-1, was issued on the direction of the Governor of Punjab and signed by Section Officer (Services-II) Muhammad Musab Saeed.

According to the notification, Mr. Hussain Habib Imtiaz (PSP/BS-20), who was awaiting posting in the Services and General Administration Department, has been appointed as Commandant, Punjab Constabulary, against a vacant post under Section 9 of the Punjab Civil Servants Act, 1974.

In another major move, Mr. Muhammad Ali Nekokara (PSP/BS-20), previously serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Investigation Monitoring, Investigation Branch, Punjab, Lahore, has been transferred and posted as DIG Operations, Central Police Office (CPO) Punjab, against a vacant post. He will also hold additional charge of Additional Inspector General (AIG) Operations, CPO Punjab, Lahore, until a regular incumbent is posted.

Meanwhile, Mr. Muhammad Shoaib Khurram (PSP/BS-20), who was serving as DIG Administration & Establishment, South Punjab, Multan, has been transferred and posted as DIG Investigation Monitoring, Investigation Branch, Punjab, Lahore, in place of Mr. Nekokara.

The official notification has been circulated to all relevant administrative and law enforcement authorities, including the Provincial Police Officer Punjab, all Deputy Commissioners, the Accountant General Punjab, and other concerned departments for necessary action.

The reshuffle reflects the provincial government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen operational efficiency and administrative oversight within the Punjab Police. The changes are expected to enhance coordination between investigation, operations, and field units across the province.

The notification concludes with formal endorsement by Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, reaffirming that the orders have been issued by the Governor of Punjab for immediate implementation.
