LAHORE — Chief Engineer / Chief Executive Officer of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), Ramzan Butt, paid a visit to the Lahore Press Club on Tuesday, where he was warmly received by Press Club President Arshad Ansari and presented with a bouquet of flowers.
Speaking to members of the media, the LESCO chief asserted that there are currently no “no-go areas” within the company’s distribution territory, proudly stating that LESCO has achieved a 101% recovery rate and brought overbilling down to absolute zero.
Engineer Ramzan Butt revealed that LESCO has formally initiated the recovery process for Rs 93 billion in ten-year-old pending arrears. He noted that significant portions of these funds had been tied up by major industrial players through various delaying tactics, but recovery efforts are now actively underway.
Reiterating LESCO’s standing among top-tier power distribution companies, Butt highlighted that eliminating overbilling and securing 100% recovery remain top organizational priorities, with substantial progress already visible.
On infrastructural improvements, the chief engineer announced an immediate and total ban on private repairs of transformers, adding that units damaged by system overloading are actively being replaced. He further issued a strict operational directive, stating that any officer responsible for a locality facing power outages exceeding four to five hours would be held strictly accountable.
Lahore Press Club President Arshad Ansari appreciated the ongoing efforts and performance of LESCO under Ramzan Butt’s leadership. Congratulating the LESCO management on addressing consumer grievances, Ansari expressed confidence that pragmatic operational steps would continue to deliver long-term solutions to public power issues.
