During the meeting, the two sides highlighted the importance of close coordination between Lahore Police and the business community to address traders’ concerns, protect commercial activities and ensure that businesspeople could operate without fear.
Kamyana said providing a peaceful, secure and business-friendly environment for the commercial sector was among the top priorities of Lahore Police. He said the force was taking all possible measures in collaboration with business representatives to resolve traders’ issues, protect commercial activities and prevent crime.
He emphasised that an effective security framework required regular communication with relevant stakeholders and a better understanding of the challenges faced by the business community.
According to the CCPO, Lahore Police was strengthening engagement with business representatives to address their concerns and improve policing arrangements. The objective was to ensure that traders could continue their commercial activities confidently, without unnecessary security concerns.
Police-business coordination
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between law enforcement authorities and the private sector, particularly in addressing security-related issues affecting commercial establishments and business activities.
Close coordination between police officials and traders can help authorities identify emerging security concerns, improve the reporting of suspicious activities and respond more effectively to complaints. Regular engagement can also help build trust between the business community and law enforcement agencies.
Business representatives play an important role in communicating the challenges faced by commercial markets, shops, offices and other establishments. A structured mechanism for exchanging information and addressing complaints can help police identify problems and take appropriate action.
The participants stressed that maintaining law and order was essential not only for the safety of traders but also for the smooth functioning of commercial markets and the wider urban economy.
LCCI police service centre appreciated
Asghar appreciated the services of the Police Khidmat Markaz established at the Lahore Chamber, describing close coordination between police and traders as important for resolving problems faced by the business community.
The service centre provides a point of contact for businesspeople seeking assistance with relevant police services. Its presence at the chamber can help improve access to police-related support and strengthen communication between traders and law enforcement officials.
The LCCI president also paid tribute to Lahore Police for its sacrifices in maintaining law and order and protecting citizens.
His remarks highlighted the importance of recognising the role of law enforcement personnel in safeguarding lives and property while ensuring that commercial activities continue in a secure environment.
The chamber has an important role in representing the concerns of traders and industrialists and communicating their requirements to government departments and other public institutions. Cooperation with police authorities can help ensure that security-related challenges affecting businesses receive timely attention.
Security linked to investment and economic growth
During the meeting, both sides emphasised that a secure business environment was essential for investor confidence, economic stability, the expansion of trade and the creation of employment opportunities.
Security concerns can affect business confidence, operating costs and decisions about investment and expansion. Conversely, effective policing and timely responses to complaints can help create conditions in which businesses are better positioned to operate, employ workers and explore new opportunities.
For Lahore, one of Pakistan’s major commercial and industrial centres, the protection of business activity is particularly important. Markets, manufacturing units, offices and service-sector enterprises depend on reliable law and order to maintain operations and serve customers.
Improved coordination between the police and business organisations can also help authorities better understand the security requirements of different commercial areas and develop responses suited to their needs.
The meeting underscored the shared interest of law enforcement agencies and the business community in maintaining peace, protecting commercial establishments and strengthening public confidence.
Both sides stressed the importance of continued engagement to address traders’ concerns and promote a safe environment for commercial activity.
