LAHORE, October 27: Lahore Police have intensified their crackdown against kite flying and the use of metallic string, resulting in the arrest of 1,681 individuals and registration of 1,647 cases so far this year.
According to the Lahore Police Spokesperson, a total of 35,726 kites and 1,791 string spools have been recovered during various operations across the city.
Capital City Police Officer Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana has directed police to ensure strict implementation of the Anti-Kite Flying Act, ordering action against those found violating the law. He further instructed that operations against the manufacturing, sale, purchase and use of metallic string and kites be intensified.
Bilal Siddique Kamyana emphasized that individuals involved in the trade of deadly metallic string must be given exemplary punishment. The CCPO also directed the police to closely monitor online sale and purchase of kites and string, while urging parents and teachers to play their role in ending this dangerous practice.
