LAHORE: Lahore Police has intensified its ongoing crackdown against one-wheelers and underage drivers, making significant progress during the month of July. A total of 126 individuals involved in one-wheeling were arrested, and corresponding FIRs were registered at various police stations.

According to a statement issued by the Lahore Police spokesperson, a total of 1,187 one-wheelers have been arrested so far this year, with 1,067 FIRs registered across the city.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore, Bilal Siddique Kamyana, emphasized that the operation will continue with full force. He said special checkpoints have been set up on major roads to curb dangerous activities such as one-wheeling and rash driving. Dedicated teams from the Traffic Police, Dolphin Squad, and Police Response Unit have been mobilized to target underage drivers and illegal motorcycle racing.
The CCPO further directed law enforcement to take strict action against mechanics who modify motorcycles to facilitate one-wheeling. He appealed to the youth to stay away from one-wheeling, bike alterations, and reckless driving, highlighting the grave risks involved.
“Underage driving is a leading cause of road accidents. Parents must ensure that their children do not drive without a license,” Kamyana said. He also urged teachers and civil society members to help instill road safety awareness and promote responsible behavior among young people.
He encouraged citizens to learn driving from certified schools and fully understand traffic laws before taking to the roads.
“Adherence to traffic rules is a hallmark of a civilized nation,” the CCPO concluded, urging the public to report any incidents of underage driving, one-wheeling, or street racing by calling the police helpline 15.
