Holds open court to address public grievances in Gujjarpura

LAHORE — Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Investigation Lahore, Syed Zeeshan Raza, paid glowing tribute to the Pakistan Army for its recent victories in critical operations and held an open court (khuli kacheri) in the Gujjarpura area, aimed at resolving public complaints related to police investigations.

The event was held in line with the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab. A large number of citizens, police officials, and investigation officers were in attendance, including SP Investigation Civil Lines Khalid Saeed and relevant DSPs.
The open court began with a solemn prayer for the security and prosperity of Pakistan. Participants expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Pakistan Armed Forces for their successful undertakings in Operation Bunyān Marsūs and Ma’araka-e-Haq, applauding their sacrifices and achievements in ensuring national security.
DIG Zeeshan Raza attentively listened to citizens’ complaints and took immediate action on various issues. In a show of accountability, several investigation officers were suspended on the spot for poor performance, while others received show-cause notices and were directed to report to headquarters.
“There will be no tolerance for negligence or compromise on merit,” DIG Raza stated. He directed all officers to ensure swift and merit-based investigation of cases and emphasized that resolving public complaints must remain a top priority.
He also reaffirmed that the protection of citizens’ lives and property is the prime responsibility of the police. “Quick and fair justice is key to maintaining peace and order,” he added.
The DIG stressed improving police-public relations and directed officials to behave courteously and professionally with complainants. “The aim of these open courts is to build trust between the public and police and to ensure timely justice. My office remains open for anyone seeking assistance,” DIG Zeeshan Raza said.
This initiative is part of ongoing reforms within the Punjab Police aimed at transparency, public engagement, and performance-based accountability, reflecting both civilian and law enforcement alignment for a peaceful and just society.
