LAHORE: The Complaint Cell at the Capital City Police Headquarters has received 6,011 complaints so far this year. Out of these, 5,491 have been resolved, while legal proceedings were in progress for the remaining 520 cases, according to a statement released by the spokesman of Lahore Police today.

The spokesman informed that of the 58 complaints received through the Chief Minister’s portal, 55 have been addressed, with 3 currently under process. Additionally, 2,012 citizens personally visited the CCPO Office, of which 1,813 complaints were resolved and 199 were being processed.
Among the 3,941 complaints received via post, action has been taken on 3,623, and work was underway on the remaining 318, he said. Overall, the resolution rate of complaints related to police matters at the CCPO Office stands at 91% this year, he further said.
Meanwhile, CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana stated that the police department’s public-friendly initiatives were providing timely relief to citizens. The Complaint Cell was helping address police-related issues of the people without delay.
He added that resolving the issues of senior citizens, persons with disabilities and women was a priority. Mr Kamyana directed the police high-ups to adopt an open-door policy to ensure timely relief to complainants and urged them to treat citizens with respect and courtesy.
