Bollywood’s legendary actor Dharmendra who is finally cremated in mumbai, widely adored as the industry’s original He-Man, passed away on Monday at the age of 89 in Mumbai. The veteran star had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital earlier this month after developing severe breathing complications.

Despite doctors’ efforts, Dharmendra could not recover and breathed his last on Monday morning, leaving millions of fans and colleagues mourning the end of an era in Indian cinema. Tributes from across the film fraternity poured in as celebrities and admirers remembered his unmatched contribution to the silver screen.
Dharmendra’s illustrious career spanned more than six decades, during which he delivered countless memorable performances in classics such as Sholay, Chupke Chupke, and Phool Aur Patthar. His final film, Ikkis, in which he played a pivotal role, is set to release in theatres on December 25.
His wife Hema Malini and daughter Esha Deol were among the first family members to arrive at Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle. A number of top Bollywood stars—including Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Sanjay Dutt—also attended the funeral rites to pay their last respects.
Dharmendra is survived by six children. He had four children—Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vijeta Deol, and Ajeeta Deol—with his first wife Prakash Kaur. He later married his Sholay co-star Hema Malini in 1980, with whom he shared two daughters, Esha and Ahana Deol.

Veteran actor Dharmendra, fondly remembered as Hindi cinema’s original ‘He-Man’, died on November 24. He was 89. His last rites were held at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Mumbai, where members of the film fraternity and family have gathered to pay their final respects.

Dharmendra had been admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital earlier this month and was discharged on November 12. The actor had been unwell for some time.

Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aamir Khan and several other industry colleagues were seen arriving at the funeral to bid farewell to the iconic star, whose contribution to Indian cinema spans over six decades.

In an emotional coincidence, the makers of his upcoming film ‘Ikkis’ released a poster featuring Dharmendra earlier today. The war drama is scheduled for a December theatrical release and now stands as one of his final on-screen appearances.

Dharmendra leaves behind a legacy of unforgettable performances, a towering filmography, and generations of audiences who adored him.
