Amjad Khan’s family refused underworld help to recover ₹1.27 crore dues, reveals son Shadaab Khan

(Web Desk) –Years after the death of legendary actor Amjad Khan, his son Shadaab Khan has spoken about the financial struggles their family quietly endured despite the actor’s immense success in Bollywood.

In a recent conversation, Shadaab revealed that several filmmakers and producers allegedly failed to clear payments owed to his father, with dues amounting to nearly ₹1.27 crore still pending after his death.

According to Shadaab, his father had often chosen compassion over confrontation. He said Amjad Khan willingly let go of payments from individuals who were genuinely unable to repay him. However, he maintained that a significant portion of the unpaid amount was owed by financially secure producers who never returned the money, even after the actor’s passing.

Shadaab noted that the sum was substantial enough at the time to purchase multiple apartments in Mumbai’s upscale Pali Hill area.

What stood out most in his recollection was the dignified stance taken by his mother, Shaila Khan. Despite facing financial uncertainty, she reportedly refused to chase people for money or seek assistance through questionable means.

Shadaab described her decision as one rooted in self-respect and personal principles, recalling how she would simply say, “God will take care of us.”

In a startling revelation, Shadaab also shared that the family was approached by members of the underworld shortly after Amjad Khan’s death.

He claimed that a gangster based in the Middle East contacted him directly and offered to recover the unpaid money from the film industry within days. The caller allegedly assured him that the cash would be delivered to their doorstep if they agreed.

However, Shaila Khan immediately rejected the proposal. According to Shadaab, she firmly believed that her husband had never relied on criminal connections during his lifetime and she did not wish to compromise those values after his death. Her refusal effectively ended the matter, despite the family’s difficult circumstances.

The revelations have once again highlighted the darker side of the film industry, where delayed or unpaid dues have often been a subject of controversy. At the same time, Shadaab’s account paints a portrait of a family that chose integrity and dignity over intimidation, even when faced with financial hardship.
