The meeting focused on identifying opportunities to increase trade between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan, improve business-to-business engagement and develop stronger commercial partnerships between the two countries.
Ali Hussam Asghar emphasised the importance of strengthening Pakistan’s economic relations with Central Asian countries, particularly Kyrgyzstan, to help Pakistani exporters explore new markets and diversify their export destinations.
He highlighted the potential for closer cooperation between the private sectors of both countries, saying stronger business connections could create opportunities for exporters, manufacturers and investors.
The LCCI president stressed the importance of regular interaction between business communities, trade delegations and chambers of commerce to identify potential trading partners and facilitate commercial cooperation. He said sustained engagement could help translate bilateral goodwill into practical economic opportunities.
Asghar also underscored the need to explore new areas of trade and investment and strengthen direct links between businesses in Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan. Greater cooperation, he said, could help companies in both countries identify mutually beneficial opportunities and expand their commercial presence in regional markets.
Kyrgyzstan’s strategic location in Central Asia offers potential opportunities for Pakistani businesses seeking to broaden their regional trade links. Stronger commercial relations could help Pakistani exporters reach new customers while encouraging the exchange of products, expertise and investment.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of improving coordination between business organisations and facilitating greater interaction between the two countries’ private sectors. Trade exhibitions, business delegations and direct meetings between companies could help identify products with export potential and establish long-term partnerships.
For Pakistan, stronger trade relations with Central Asian countries are important for diversifying export markets and expanding regional economic engagement. Closer cooperation with Kyrgyzstan could provide Pakistani businesses with additional opportunities to develop commercial links beyond traditional trading partners.
The LCCI, as a representative body of the business community in Punjab, regularly engages with foreign diplomats and trade representatives to promote international commerce, attract investment and explore opportunities for Pakistani businesses.
The meeting was attended by LCCI Senior Vice President Sardar Usman Ghani and Vice President Chaudhry Khadim Hussain.
Kyrgyzstan’s Honorary Consul Kashif Younis Mehr, former LCCI vice president Mian Zahid Javed, and Executive Committee members Shah Bahram, Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Yasin and Shehzad Mahmood were also present.
The participants discussed ways to strengthen economic cooperation and encourage closer engagement between the business communities of Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.
