ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s scheduled visit to Peshawar on Tuesday has been cancelled due to his official commitments, according to government sources.
The prime minister was expected to review the overall situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with particular attention to law and order, administrative matters and ongoing development projects.
A high-level meeting under his chairmanship was also planned at the Governor House in Peshawar to discuss major provincial challenges and assess recent developments.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi were expected to accompany the prime minister during the visit.
However, sources said the programme was called off because of the prime minister’s other engagements. No official details have been provided regarding a possible new date for the visit.
The planned meeting was expected to provide an opportunity for federal and provincial officials to discuss security concerns, governance issues and the progress of development initiatives across the province.
The cancellation leaves the timing of the prime minister’s next visit to Peshawar uncertain, while further details about the proposed consultations are awaited.
