LAHORE — Governor of Punjab, Sardar Salim Haider Khan, convened an important organizational and political meeting focusing on Sialkot district at the Governor House, engaging in detailed discussions with key regional representatives of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
The high-level meeting was attended by prominent PPP leaders from the region, including Rana Farooq Ashraf, party ticket holder for constituency PP-50, and Faheem Jameel Thakur, party ticket holder for constituency NA-124. During the deliberations, the participants conducted a comprehensive review of the current organizational framework within Sialkot district, assessing both challenges and opportunities for expansion.
A major focus of the interaction centered on the core grievances and operational hurdles faced by local party workers. Rana Farooq Ashraf and Faheem Jameel Thakur briefed the Governor on the ground realities in their respective constituencies, highlighting the necessity of stronger coordination between local party cadres and the central leadership. The leaders also discussed long-term political strategy to consolidate the party’s standing in upcoming regional political engagements.
Addressing the delegates, Governor Sardar Salim Haider Khan underlined the imperative of prioritizing public welfare, instructing the leadership to focus on the immediate and effective resolution of local public problems. He stressed that a political organization derives its strength directly from its grassroots connections and that resolving community issues remains the most effective path to building public trust.
