ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Rana Sanaullah has issued a strong warning over the medical treatment of PTI founder Imran Khan, saying the jail authorities and judiciary would be responsible if any negligence occurs.

Speaking in the Senate, Sanaullah responded to concerns raised by the opposition leader regarding Imran Khan’s health and medical care.

He said Imran Khan remains in the custody of the jail authorities and is under the oversight of the judiciary. Therefore, he added, any lapse or negligence in providing medical treatment would make the relevant institutions responsible.

Sanaullah said Imran Khan had been provided medical facilities in a timely manner and that medical tests had been conducted both at the jail and at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).

The federal minister further claimed that, according to the information available to the government, Imran Khan himself was satisfied with the medical treatment being provided to him.

He also pointed out that several petitions concerning Imran Khan had been filed before the courts, while applications seeking permission to meet him were pending before the Supreme Court and the Islamabad High Court.

The remarks come amid continuing political and legal debate over Imran Khan’s health, access to medical care and meetings with his lawyers and political associates.
