PSQCA employees continue strike for 11th day, demand resolution of pending issues

By Our Correspondent

LAHORE – Employees of the Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) continued their protest and pen-down strike for the 11th consecutive day on Thursday, demanding immediate approval and implementation of their longstanding service-related demands.

The protesting employees staged demonstrations at both PSQCA offices in Lahore, reaffirming their decision to continue the peaceful protest until their grievances are addressed by the relevant authorities.

The representatives of the employees, while addressing the demonstration, said that a committee had already been constituted to review and resolve the longstanding issues of employees. They said they were now waiting for the implementation of the committee’s recommendations after the report was forwarded to the concerned authorities.

The employees demanded immediate payment of the half-yearly incentive, a permanent resolution of the outstation ceiling and house rent issue, and approval of other legitimate service-related matters.

They said delays in resolving these issues had caused frustration among employees and affected their morale. They urged the authorities to take practical steps to address their concerns so that institutional affairs could return to normal.

The protesters clarified that their demonstration was completely peaceful and within the constitutional framework. However, they warned that the pen-down strike would continue until their genuine demands were accepted and implemented.

The employees appealed to the Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Secretary Ministry of Science and Technology, Director General PSQCA and other relevant officials to intervene and resolve the matter on an urgent basis.

They said immediate action was necessary not only for the welfare of employees but also for ensuring smooth functioning of PSQCA, which plays a key role in maintaining quality standards and regulatory compliance across the country.

PSQCA employees maintained that they remained committed to their duties but were compelled to continue their protest due to the delay in addressing their longstanding issues. They hoped that the authorities would take positive steps to resolve the matter through dialogue and restore normal working conditions at the organisation.
