CAIRO ( Web Desk) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has arrived in Cairo to participate in the fourth meeting of the R-4 Group foreign ministers, aimed at strengthening regional cooperation and addressing key geopolitical challenges.

Upon his arrival in the Egyptian capital, Dar was welcomed by Egypt’s Assistant Foreign Minister for Policy Planning, Research, Crisis Management and Assessments, Nazih El Naggary, along with Pakistan’s Ambassador to Egypt, Aamir Shouket.

According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, Dar will represent the country at the high-level gathering, where foreign ministers from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Egypt are expected to discuss issues of mutual interest, regional security concerns and major global developments.

The meeting is being held at a time when countries across the region are seeking greater coordination to address evolving security challenges and geopolitical shifts affecting the Middle East and neighboring regions.

On the sidelines of the conference, Dar is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with several foreign counterparts to discuss diplomatic ties and explore opportunities for enhanced cooperation in trade, investment and regional stability.

The deputy prime minister is further expected to meet Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi during his visit. Discussions are likely to focus on strengthening Pakistan-Egypt relations, expanding economic collaboration and reviewing recent regional developments.

Pakistan and Egypt have maintained longstanding diplomatic relations and continue to cooperate on various international and multilateral platforms. Officials believe the visit will provide an opportunity to deepen engagement between the two countries and promote shared interests on regional and global issues.

The R-4 forum has increasingly emerged as an important platform for consultation among member states, enabling them to coordinate policies and exchange perspectives on security, diplomacy and economic cooperation.
