TEHRAN (Web Desk) – Masoud Pezeshkian has shared an image of one of Iran’s oldest trees on social media, using it to reflect the country’s long-standing cultural and historical identity.

In his post, the president described the ancient cypress tree, locally known as “Sarv,” as a living symbol of continuity, noting that it has stood for over 4,500 years on land historically recognized as Iran.

According to media reports, the message appeared to emphasize the depth of Iran’s civilization and its enduring legacy spanning thousands of years.

The post comes at a time of heightened tensions between Tehran and United States, following remarks attributed to Donald Trump regarding Iran’s cultural and historical identity.

Observers say the symbolic gesture was aimed at reinforcing national pride and resilience, drawing parallels with recent diplomatic optics involving Xi Jinping during high-level international engagements.

The message underscores how cultural heritage is often used as a soft-power tool during geopolitical tensions.

Such symbolic communication may strengthen domestic unity and send subtle diplomatic signals on the global stage.

Analysts expect continued use of cultural symbolism by leaders amid evolving geopolitical narratives.

Pakistan, with its own rich historical heritage, often engages in similar cultural narratives to promote identity and unity internationally.
