LAHORE – President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Faheem ur Rehman Saigol, has said that the completion of one year since Pakistan’s decisive defensive operation—carried out under the spirit of Bunyan-un-Marsoos—marks a defining moment in the nation’s contemporary history, reflecting unity, resilience, and an unbreakable national resolve.
In a comprehensive statement issued to commemorate the anniversary, Saigol said the operation, led by Syed Asim Munir, symbolised not only military strength but also the embodiment of Bunyan-un-Marsoos—a concept rooted in unity, discipline, and cohesion, where the nation stands like a fortified structure against all external threats.
“This milestone is far more than a remembrance of a strategic success; it is a reflection of the unity and strength that define Pakistan as a nation,” Saigol said. “The spirit of Bunyan-un-Marsoos brought together our armed forces and citizens alike, demonstrating that when we stand united, no challenge is insurmountable.”
He paid rich tribute to Pakistan’s armed forces, praising their professionalism, courage, and unwavering dedication. According to him, their swift and decisive response to hostile actions ensured the protection of national sovereignty and reinforced Pakistan’s position as a capable and resilient state.
“The bravery and discipline displayed by our armed forces serve as a beacon of inspiration,” he stated. “Their sacrifices are etched in our collective memory and will continue to guide future generations.”
Saigol also emphasised that the significance of the operation extends beyond military achievement. It stands as a testament to the resilience and unity of the Pakistani people, who stood shoulder to shoulder during a time of adversity.
“During that critical period, the entire nation reflected the true meaning of Bunyan-un-Marsoos,” he noted. “Citizens from all walks of life united with a shared sense of purpose, demonstrating patience, strength, and solidarity. This unity remains our greatest asset.”
Highlighting the role of the business community, the LCCI president underscored the strong link between national security and economic stability. He said a secure and stable environment forms the foundation for sustainable economic growth, investment, and prosperity.
“A strong nation is built on both security and economic resilience,” Saigol remarked. “The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry is fully committed to strengthening Pakistan’s economy through proactive engagement, policy advocacy, and support for industry and trade.”
He added that the business community has a critical role to play in translating the spirit of Bunyan-un-Marsoos into economic progress. By working collectively, fostering innovation, and promoting entrepreneurship, Pakistan can achieve long-term stability and growth.
Reflecting on the past year, he acknowledged that Pakistan has faced numerous economic and geopolitical challenges. However, he praised the resilience and adaptability of the business sector, which has continued to contribute to national development despite uncertainties.
“The determination that emerged during that defining moment continues to inspire us,” he said. “Our entrepreneurs and industrialists have shown remarkable perseverance, ensuring that economic momentum is sustained even in difficult times.”
He reiterated that economic strength is a cornerstone of national security. A stable and growing economy, he explained, enhances a country’s ability to withstand external pressures and maintain internal stability.
On this occasion, Saigol also paid heartfelt tribute to the martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation. He described them as true heroes whose courage and selflessness represent the highest ideals of patriotism.
“We honour our martyrs with the deepest respect and gratitude,” Saigol said. “Their sacrifices are immeasurable, and their legacy continues to inspire us. We stand in unwavering solidarity with their families and reaffirm our commitment to never forget their contributions.”
He stressed that the nation must ensure that the sacrifices of these heroes are remembered and honoured through continued efforts to build a stronger and more united Pakistan.
Saigol also highlighted the importance of strengthening institutions and governance systems. He called for sustained investment in transparency, accountability, and efficiency to build public trust and ensure long-term national stability.
“Strong institutions are essential for a resilient nation,” he said. “Policy consistency, economic reforms, and a business-friendly environment will enable Pakistan to unlock its full potential and compete effectively on the global stage.”
Furthermore, he emphasised the need to prioritise innovation, export growth, and private sector development. He noted that the private sector must take a leading role in driving economic transformation, creating employment opportunities, and enhancing competitiveness.
“The Chamber stands ready to collaborate with government bodies, policymakers, and stakeholders to achieve shared national objectives,” he added.
Looking ahead, Saigol said the challenges faced over the past year have also created opportunities for self-reliance and growth. He urged all segments of society to draw lessons from recent experiences and channel them into building a stronger future.
“The spirit of Bunyan-un-Marsoos must guide our path forward,” he concluded. “It reminds us that unity, discipline, and collective effort are the keys to overcoming challenges and achieving progress.”
Reaffirming LCCI’s commitment, Saigol stated that the Chamber will continue to support initiatives aimed at economic stability, national unity, and institutional strength.
“This anniversary is not just a moment of reflection but a call to action,” he said. “By working together across all sectors, we can ensure that Pakistan remains on a path of stability, prosperity, and strength.”
He ended with a message of hope and determination: “Let us honour our heroes, strengthen our economy, and uphold the spirit of Bunyan-un-Marsoos to build a secure and prosperous future for Pakistan.”
