LAHORE, Jan 14: As part of an intensified campaign against gambling, the Lahore police have arrested 86 people involved in operating gambling dens and online betting platforms during the past 13 days.

A police spokesperson said on Wednesday that 29 FIRs were registered against the suspects at different police stations across the city, adding that more than Rs500,000 in cash was seized during the raids.
Capital City Police Officer Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana ordered the continuation of across-the-board action against gambling outlets and online gambling until their complete eradication. He said individuals involved in online betting would be traced through technical means and proceeded against under the law.
Warning that no leniency would be shown to those luring the youth into gambling, the CCPO said the Lahore police would maintain a robust crackdown to protect life and property and to eliminate social vices from society.
