(Web Desk) Nicolás Maduro, Venezuela’s long-time president, has been arrested and is now being held in a federal jail in New York after a dramatic U.S. military operation that captured him in Venezuela and brought him to the United States to face criminal charges.

According to U.S. officials, Maduro was arrested because he is accused of serious criminal activities, mainly related to drug trafficking, corruption and narco-terrorism.
