LAHORE, December 16, 2025 — Markets in Lahore are facing a severe shortage of LPG, with dealers reportedly reducing supply amid speculations of an imminent price hike. According to industry sources, licensed LPG marketing companies have intentionally slowed down supply to earn higher margins, anticipating approval of a government proposal that may increase LPG prices.

Shops across the city have started charging arbitrary rates, triggering widespread consumer protests. Citizens have urged the government to take notice, ensure consistent supply, and regulate the market to prevent exploitation.
LPG marketing companies, however, denied allegations of deliberately restricting supply. They claimed the shortage is due to natural demand-supply fluctuations and emphasized that the government should issue the new price notification soon to remove market uncertainty.
Consumers continue to face difficulties as the situation remains unresolved, with authorities under pressure to intervene and stabilize the LPG market.
