ISLAMABAD ( News Desk) – In a welcome development for people struggling with rising living costs, petroleum prices are expected to decrease by up to Rs11 per litre in the next fortnightly review, sources said on Thursday.

According to initial estimates, petrol may see a modest cut of 36 paisas per litre, while high-speed diesel is likely to drop significantly by Rs11.85 per litre. Kerosene oil could become cheaper by Rs11.70 per litre, and light diesel by Rs10.01 per litre.
Officials confirmed that OGRA will forward the pricing summary to the government on December 15. Once the prime minister gives the go-ahead, the Petroleum Division will issue the formal notification.
If the proposed cuts are approved, petrol will be priced at Rs263.09 per litre, high-speed diesel at Rs267.80, kerosene oil at Rs181.16, and light diesel at Rs153.76 per litre.
For many consumers, the potential drop in fuel rates may serve as a much-needed breather, offering some relief in an otherwise tough economic climate.
