Organized by Ms. Shazia Suleman, CEO of Inter Globe Travel & Tours, in collaboration with the Embassy of Spain in Pakistan, the evening highlighted the strengthening cultural exchange and friendship between Pakistan and Spain.
A renowned Flamenco troupe from Spain delivered an exceptional performance, combining emotional storytelling, intricate footwork, and live guitar melodies. The audience responded with repeated applause and standing ovations, celebrating the performers’ passion, energy, and artistry.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Mr. Kamran Lashari (Ex-DG, Walled City Authority), Justice (R) Nasira Javaid Iqbal, Sajid Habib (Air Vice Marshal, R), and Dr. Qaiser (CEO, Discover Pakistan). Their presence underscored the importance of initiatives that build understanding, harmony, and international cooperation.
“It was an honor to bring Flamenco to Lahore.

Art connects people beyond borders,” one of the performers expressed, appreciating Pakistan’s warmth and hospitality.
The evening also attracted diplomats, cultural personalities, and art enthusiasts, all praising the initiative for enriching Lahore’s cultural landscape. Discover Pakistan served as the official media partner, providing extensive coverage.

“Flamenco Spain in Lahore” marked an important milestone in promoting global cultural engagement and reaffirmed Lahore’s reputation as a vibrant hub of international artistic exchange.
Flamenco is one of Spain’s most treasured artistic traditions, celebrated worldwide for its emotional depth, vibrant rhythms, and powerful storytelling. Originating in the Andalusian region of southern Spain, Flamenco evolved over centuries through the cultural intermingling of Andalusian, Moorish, Jewish, and Romani (Gitanos) communities. This fusion of influences formed an art that blends song (cante), dance (baile), and guitar music (toque) into an expressive performance rich with passion and identity.

Emerging in the 18th century as a form of expression among marginalized groups, Flamenco later became a cherished national symbol of Spain. Its themes—love, sorrow, resilience, and joy—reflect the depths of human emotion, making Flamenco a profound cultural experience.

In recognition of its importance, UNESCO declared Flamenco a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2010.

Today, Flamenco continues to inspire audiences worldwide, serving as a cultural bridge that promotes artistic understanding and international dialogue.
