LAHORE (November 13, 2025): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has submitted a zero-hour notice to the Punjab Assembly regarding the sharp increase in fertilizer prices at the start of the wheat cultivation season.

The notice, submitted by PTI MPA Mian Ijaz Shafi, states that wheat sowing is currently underway across Punjab, and although the provincial government had earlier announced subsidies for DAP and urea fertilizers, prices have instead risen significantly.
According to the notice, the price of a DAP bag has surged from Rs14,000 to Rs16,000, while the government has yet to announce the official support price for wheat. Mian Ijaz Shafi warned that if the current situation persists, the province may face reduced wheat cultivation and a potential food crisis in the near future.
