LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif met a high-profile delegation of Chinese investors who expressed strong interest in investing across various sectors of Punjab’s economy.

Welcoming the delegation, the Chief Minister said she was delighted to see women among the Chinese investors. She termed the meeting highly significant ahead of her upcoming visit to Brazil, adding that Punjab offers enormous potential for global investors.

Maryam Nawaz said Punjab has launched the Zero Time to Start policy for the first time, designed to give investors instant facilitation and complete government backing. She noted that Punjab is currently witnessing one of its most promising periods for business and industrial growth.

The Chief Minister said the province’s industrial zones and parks provide ideal conditions for investment. She added that the government would offer tax holidays and import duty relief to create a business-friendly ecosystem.

Highlighting key sectors, she said infrastructure, IT, and medical tourism are ready to take off with foreign investment. Following her visit to China last year, Punjab has accelerated innovation in the medical and technology sectors.

Maryam Nawaz stated that real estate and infrastructure projects in Punjab can yield quick profits, citing the RUDA project as a prime example. She mentioned that her government built over 100,000 houses in just ten months — setting a new benchmark in the housing sector.

With growing tourism, the Chief Minister said Punjab needs more quality hotels. “For the first time, we are introducing a glass train and a high-speed train in Punjab,” she announced. A vast area has also been allocated for the province’s largest medical district.

“Punjab is now a paperless, online business province — apply today and start tomorrow,” she remarked confidently.

During the meeting, top executives from leading Chinese companies introduced themselves and showed serious intent to invest in multiple sectors of Punjab.
