LAHORE: Lahore Police have arrested a domestic worker accused of stealing an elderly citizen’s ATM card and withdrawing Rs 1.2 million, successfully recovering the full amount.

According to police, the accused had been employed in the victim’s house for the past four months as a caretaker. Taking advantage of his access, he secretly stole the ATM card and made multiple withdrawals.
Following the directives of DIG Investigations Syed Zeeshan Raza, a special task was assigned by SSP Investigations Muhammad Naveed, who took immediate notice of the crime. The case was registered, and a police team led by Incharge Investigations Gulberg, Ali Raza, tracked down and arrested the suspect.
The recovered money was handed back to the rightful owner by SSP Naveed himself, who emphasized that protecting citizens’ lives and property remains the police’s top priority.
“The accused exploited the trust of an elderly citizen. Such elements will not be spared. Citizens can rest assured that their safety is our foremost mission,” SSP Naveed said.
Grateful for the swift action, the complainant thanked the police for recovering his hard-earned money. Recognizing the outstanding efforts of the investigation team, SSP Naveed also distributed commendation certificates among the officers involved.
This incident highlights the growing vigilance of Lahore Police against financial crimes and reaffirms their commitment to safeguarding public trust.
