Amid a National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) probe into betting apps, social media users are rallying behind efforts to curb online gambling and hold YouTubers accountable for promoting such platforms.
Several prominent influencers, including Mudassar Hassan, Muhammad Anas Ali, Iqra Kanwal of Sistrology, and Muhammad Husnain Shah, have been summoned for questioning at the NCCIA Lahore office on Tuesday.

They are accused of endorsing unlicensed gambling and trading apps, allegedly luring thousands of young people into unregulated platforms, resulting in widespread financial losses.
Iqra Kanwal faces specific allegations of orchestrating a scheme to defraud people by promoting illegal apps. Non-compliance with the summons could lead to forfeiture of their right to defend themselves.
Social media reactions reflect public anger, with one user stating, “These scams need to stop; people have lost everything.” Another remarked, “These influencers betrayed the trust they built and exploited their followers.”
A commenter urged, “These apps are dangerous traps—authorities should punish everyone involved.” The crackdown follows the arrest of influencer Ducky Bhai on August 16, 2025, at Lahore airport, with his remand extended until September 1 as investigations deepen.
Public demands for stricter regulations and accountability are growing louder, with users calling for permanent bans on such apps and hefty fines for endorsing influencers.
One user expressed, “It’s refreshing to see society being cleaned up.” Another added, “These ‘influencers’ are finally facing the consequences they deserve.”
