Efforts of Pakistan Army and Rescue Agencies are Commendable: Ramesh Singh Arora

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Minorities Affairs / President of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC), Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, paid rich tribute to Field Marshal Asim Munir and the brave soldiers of the Pakistan Army, stating that they ensured the safety of the Sikh community’s lives and property in this difficult time.
During the flood emergency at Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib, the Pakistan Army, rescue agencies, and the district administration worked tirelessly and successfully carried out a rescue operation.
As a result, over 100 pilgrims and local residents were safely evacuated to secure locations.
Ramesh Singh Arora stated that despite the floodwaters, the historic Guru Granth Sahib and other precious relics at Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib remain completely safe. He further highlighted that on the special directives of the Chief Minister of Punjab, precautionary measures had been taken in advance, which helped prevent major losses.
Condemning India’s actions, he said that the Modi government deliberately released a flood surge of 250,000 cusecs, which is nothing less than water terrorism and a conspiracy to harm Punjab. These attempts to hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community have failed. The Minister noted that water levels at Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib had risen up to ten feet but expressed confidence that, with ongoing efforts, the water would recede within four to five days. He assured that soon the gurdwara would reopen for pilgrims, enabling Sikh devotees from around the world to once again perform their religious rituals.
The Government of Punjab stands in full solidarity with the Sikh community, and normal activities at Kartarpur will be restored very soon, he concluded.
