LAHORE – Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren called on Acting Governor Punjab Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan at Governor House Lahore today. The meeting focused on promoting Pakistan–China relations, advancing CPEC projects, and exploring cooperation in new sectors. Both sides also agreed to facilitate the exchange of parliamentary delegations between the two countries.

Speaking on the occasion, Acting Governor Punjab Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan said that Pakistan–China relations are deep-rooted and built on mutual respect, trust, and affection. He noted that China has always stood by Pakistan in difficult times and appreciated China’s role in Pakistan’s development.
He emphasized that CPEC is the key not only to Pakistan’s development but also to the prosperity of the entire region, adding that the government has accelerated work on CPEC projects. He further noted that people-to-people ties between Pakistan and China remain strong.
Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren said that the People’s Republic of China values its friendship with Pakistan, and cooperation will be expanded in education, agriculture, poverty alleviation, and health. He added that collaboration between Pakistani and Chinese universities in agricultural research will be strengthened. Zhao also invited the Acting Governor to attend China’s National Day celebrations as a special guest.
