A major train derailment took place on Friday evening when the Islamabad Express, en route from Lahore to Rawalpindi, veered off the tracks near Kala Shah Kaku.
Pakistan Railways officials reported that four carriages separated and derailed, injuring 25 passengers.

Emergency crews quickly arrived at the location and initiated rescue efforts. On-site first aid was provided to the injured, with those in critical condition transferred to nearby hospitals for further care. Authorities acted promptly to clear the disrupted track and assist the affected passengers.
Federal Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi responded to the incident, instructing the Pakistan Railways Chief Executive Officer and the Divisional Superintendent (DS) to head to the derailment site immediately.
He also mandated a formal investigation, requesting a comprehensive report within seven days.
