During the meeting, various leaders participated in discussions specific to each constituency. For PP-87 Mianwali, the session included Tasneem Qureshi, Ali Sanwal, Zubair Hamza, and Rana Aziz-ur-Rehman. Tasneem Qureshi, Divisional President Sargodha, gave a detailed briefing on the constituency, while District President Khushab, Ali Sanwal, stressed the importance of senior leadership’s involvement to ensure favorable results.
Syed Hassan Murtaza recommended Zubair Hamza as the PPP’s candidate for PP-87 Mianwali and appointed Rana Aziz-ur-Rehman as election coordinator for the by-election campaign.
For NA-66 Wazirabad, participants included Mian Azhar Hassan Dar, Imtiaz Safdar Warraich, Chaudhry Akhtar, Ijaz Sama, Malik Tahir, Wadood Dar, and Shaukat Bajwa. In the meeting for NA-129 Lahore, a large delegation was present, including Rana Farooq Saeed, Chaudhry Aslam Gul, Mian Misbah-ur-Rehman, Usman Malik, Mian Ayub, and several others.
Addressing the meetings, General Secretary Hassan Murtaza stated that the PPP will field strong candidates in all constituencies and emphasized that party tickets, particularly for NA-129 Lahore, will be given on the recommendations of the parliamentary committee. He underlined that the PPP will contest elections independently, without requesting seat adjustments or quotas from PML-N.
“We have to fight in the field, not in drawing rooms,” said Murtaza, adding that success will come through consistent contact with the public. He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to reassert its presence in Punjab, especially in Lahore, and vowed to contest the elections using PPP’s own resources.
