LAHORE: The Maritime Centre of Excellence (MCE), in collaboration with the Centre for International Strategic Studies (CISS), organized a high-level Workshop on Strategic Matters at the Pakistan Navy War College (PNWC) in Lahore. The event was graced by Vice Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ovais Ahmed Bilgrami, who attended as the Chief Guest.

In his keynote address, Vice Admiral Bilgrami underscored the evolving dynamics of strategic stability in South Asia. He emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to strengthening regional strategic balance amid emerging challenges.
Earlier, Rear Admiral Jawad Ahmed, President of MCE, welcomed the participants and distinguished speakers. The workshop featured in-depth analyses of the recent Pakistan-India crisis in May 2025. Experts argued that India’s current strategic posture is heavily influenced by extremist ideologies aimed at regional dominance.
The workshop brought together senior policymakers, diplomats, academics, journalists, and defense experts, fostering a rich exchange of views on pressing regional security issues and strategic challenges.
The event served as a timely platform to evaluate regional deterrence stability and explore frameworks for sustainable peace and strategic equilibrium in South Asia.
