Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced that Pakistan and the UAE have agreed to mutual visa waivers for diplomatic and official passport holders of both countries.
In an X post, Dar highlighted the agreement with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, calling it a significant step for the “brotherly nations.”

Dar stated, “As of July 25, 2025, UAE authorities have activated visa exemptions for Pakistani diplomatic and official passport holders at all UAE airports.”
He added that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to formalize the reciprocal visa waiver, effective 30 days post-signing. Emirati diplomatic and official passport holders also enjoy visa-free entry at all Pakistani airports.
Earlier this month, UAE Interior Minister Lt Gen Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan assured Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi of full support in simplifying visa processes for Pakistani citizens.
During the meeting, Naqvi emphasized the importance of easing visa policies, saying, “Streamlined visa procedures will significantly ease travel for Pakistanis to the UAE, strengthening bilateral ties.”
