ISLAMABAD – The Federal Government has appointed Mr. Mujahid Pervez Chattha as the Chairman and Independent Director of the Board of Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO).
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Power Division), the appointment has been made in line with the provisions of the State-Owned Enterprises (Governance and Operations) Act, 2023, and the State-Owned Enterprises (Ownership and Management) Policy, 2023. The decision was approved by the Federal Cabinet.
The notification, bearing No. 20(3)/2025-CA-I, was issued by Umer Vaqar, Section Officer (CA-I), and copies have been sent to relevant officials including the Special Secretary, Additional Secretary-I, Joint Secretary (CAD), Deputy Secretary (CA), CEO and Company Secretary of GEPCO, and the Special Assistant to the Federal Minister for Energy.
This strategic appointment is aimed at enhancing corporate governance and operational transparency within the state-owned utility company serving the Gujranwala region.
