The funeral prayers for the late actress Humaira Asghar Ali were held today in Lahore’s Model Town, followed by her burial in the Q-Block cemetery.
Her family received her body from Karachi the day prior, with the remains transported to Lahore by ambulance, accompanied by her brother, brother-in-law, and other relatives.
Muhammad Ali, Humaira’s uncle, shared that they maintained contact via phone, and she always visited their home during her Lahore trips. He noted they were unaware of her Karachi address, and when her phone became unreachable, communication came to a standstill.
He revealed that Humaira pursued a career in showbiz, where she found joy, though her parents disapproved of her choice. Her uncle also mentioned the family’s grief over the recent loss of Humaira’s mother.
He described Humaira as educated, having relocated to Karachi in 2018, where she created paintings and was content with her work. Naveed Asghar, Humaira’s younger brother, confirmed to the media that legal formalities were required since her body was in police custody.

The family coordinated with a welfare organization and the police for three days to secure her remains.
On July 8, Humaira’s body was discovered in a rented flat in Karachi’s Defence Phase 6, where she had resided since moving from Lahore in 2018.
SSP South Mahzoor Ali reported that Humaira lived alone in the flat for seven years and had stopped paying rent in 2024. The landlord initiated legal action through the Clifton Cantonment Board.
When a bailiff arrived and found the door locked, it was forced open, revealing Humaira’s body on the floor. Humaira Asghar Ali gained recognition for her roles in the reality show Tamasha Ghar and the 2015 film Jalaibee.
