LAHORE: The Lahore Press Club leadership has strongly condemned the armed robbery of former governing body member Shahida Butt, who was allegedly robbed at gunpoint outside the club’s premises.

In a statement, LPC President Arshad Ansari, Senior Vice President Salman Qureshi, Vice President Nasira Atiq, Vice President (Women’s Seat) Madiha Almas, General Secretary Afzal Talib, Joint Secretary Imran Sheikh, Finance Secretary Salik Nawaz, and members of the governing body expressed deep concern over the incident.
They said it was alarming that unknown armed assailants could snatch a mobile phone from a female journalist in broad daylight outside the Lahore Press Club, raising serious questions about security arrangements in the area.
The LPC leadership urged senior police officials to take immediate notice of the case, ensure the arrest of the suspects, and award them punishment in accordance with the law.
