LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly has passed a bill to establish the Punjab Facilitation Bazaar Authority and the Model Bazaar Company has been abolished.
The head of the Facilitation Bazaar Authority will be the DG, while the governance will be under the chairman and its members. All facilitation bazaars will be organized under the authority and their scope will be expanded to the tehsil level across Punjab.

All model bazaars will now be under the control and management of the Facilitation Bazaar Authority. The Authority will ensure effective control of the prices of food and beverages and daily necessities.
The number of facilitation bazaars will be increased to provide quality and affordable goods to the public.
The arrangements of facilitation bazaars will be organized under a modern digital system. The establishment of facilitation bazaars at the local level will help in eliminating inflation.
Strict monitoring will be done on quality, prices and availability in facilitation bazaars as per the government’s policy.
A modern and stable system will be introduced by merging the model bazaars with Facilitation Bazaars.
The PA also approved the draft law Amendment Notaries 2025 by a majority vote in the Punjab Assembly.
The government has got the draft law Amendment Bill Provincial Motor Vehicles 2025 approved by the Punjab Assembly.
The draft law Forensic Science Authority Punjab 2025 has been approved by the Punjab Assembly.
Opposition member of the assembly Imtiaz Sheikh said that the government used to create companies earlier, now it is creating authorities.
Earlier there were fifteen authorities, the government is creating new authorities.
The authorities are violations of human rights, let the Forensic Science Authority Punjab remain independent, innocent people will be tortured by creating authorities.
