LAHORE: Customs authorities at Allama Iqbal International Airport, under the leadership of Collector Customs Tayyba Kiyani, conducted a significant operation based on secret intelligence, successfully foiling a smuggling attempt.

According to the Customs spokesperson, the operation targeted a passenger arriving on Thai Airways flight TG-345 from Bangkok. The passenger, identified as Shahid Hussain, a resident of Allama Iqbal Town, Lahore, was found in possession of 102 high-value iPhones worth millions of rupees during a routine luggage inspection.
The Customs team, led by Deputy Collector Mudasar Rafiq, and comprising Superintendent Irfan Laghari, Syed Amir Shah, Inspector Faheem, Lady Constable Faika Younas, and Sepoy Haseeb, meticulously carried out the operation. The suspect’s luggage was thoroughly checked, leading to the recovery of the smuggled goods.
The smuggler, Shahid Hussain, was taken into custody, and a case has been registered against him. The seized iPhones, valued in the millions, have been confiscated.
Speaking about the operation, the Customs spokesperson highlighted the tireless efforts of Collector Customs Tayyba Kiyani and her team in combating smuggling activities across Punjab’s airports. Under her leadership, Customs authorities have intensified their vigilance to prevent illegal smuggling and ensure compliance with laws.
