Commissioner Faisalabad Division Marryam Khan has initiated practical measures to transform Divisional Public School (DPS) Faisalabad into a top-tier educational institution. Under her patronage, the Board of Governors has decided to implement a uniform curriculum across all DPS campuses.
Students will now be taught a standardized curriculum consisting of Oxford and Punjab Textbook Board materials. Additionally, teachers will be imparted with specialized training in collaboration with Oxford and other renowned educational institutions.
The Board of Governors has also approved the recruitment of teachers strictly on merit through the National Testing Service (NTS). Furthermore, it has been decided that teachers will initially be offered a one-year contract, which will be extended for an additional two years based on performance. Further extensions will be granted solely on the basis of exceptional performance during the contract period. To reduce the financial burden on DPS, unnecessary staff will be downsized. Additionally, Commissioner Marryam Khan has approved the inclusion of four new members in the Board of Governors.
Marryam Khan with the approval of BOG has also granted approval for the appointment of competent and honest principals for the Main and Premier branches of DPS. The Commissioner emphasized that all decisions will be made in consultation with the Board of Governors to restore parents’ confidence in the institution.
All recruitments, including teachers, will now be strictly based on merit. Moreover, an audit of Divisional Public Schools will be conducted to assess their financial status.
