LAHORE: Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan has said General Qamar Javed Bajwa had many options but he clearly said he did not want to extend his tenure.

“Khawaja Asif is a humble man, but he has gone out of context,” he said.

The speaker said when the question-and-answer session was held at the National Defense University, General Bajwa had made it clear that he did not want an extension and even on the platform of the United Nations, he said he did not want to get an extension because people were waiting behind him.

Regarding General Faiz, Khan said, “I do not know about it, the institutions have their own discipline, they will not talk about General Faiz becoming the Army Chief.
