LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly (PA) Saturday passed a resolution against the resolution of the American Congress in the absence of opposition.

Government member Ahsan Raza Khan presented the resolution in the assembly, condemning the resolution passed by Congress in the American House of Representatives.
The resolution termed the American resolution as an interference in the internal affairs of Pakistan.
The government MPAs said the resolution passed by the US Congress was an attempt to make the general elections of Pakistan controversial through this resolution.
Measures were taken to prevent communal intimidation, threats of violence and acts which sought to be disputed in general elections.
All institutions of Pakistan believe in freedom of expression.
The resolution defended that the government of Pakistan upheld democratic values and the violation of human rights in Pakistan was wrongly presented in the US resolution.
The US resolution is part of a Jewish conspiracy brought about by the Jewish lobby to promote domestic instability, the resolution passed by the Punjab government said.
It was said the American Congress should support the cause of Palestine and Kashmir instead of interfering in the affairs of others.
The resolution of the American Congress is not a reflection of the bilateral relations between Pakistan and the United States, the PA resolution concluded.[:]
